PEI Labour Rebate (PLR)
Refundable labour rebate of 25% on eligible salaries for incremental full-time job creation in strategic export sectors.
About this program
The PEI Labour Rebate supports the growth of Island businesses through a refundable labour rebate equal to 25% of eligible salaries and wages on incremental, full-time positions (1,850 hours) with gross wages of at least $35,000 per annum. Assistance is available to companies that manufacture, process, or develop goods or services primarily for export within one of these strategic sectors: bioscience, aerospace and defence, advanced manufacturing and processing, renewable energy and clean technology, information and communications technology, and creative and cultural industries. The PLR is applied to a maximum of one year of eligible labour expenses, with payments pro-rated over up to 10 years.
Eligibility
PEI businesses registered and actively operating in PEI, manufacturing/processing/developing goods primarily for export, operating in a strategic sector. Eligible salaries paid to PEI residents for incremental full-time positions with gross wages of at least $35,000.
