About this program
The City of St. Catharines Tax Increment Finance Program is a Community Improvement Plan incentive that helps make eligible redevelopment, rehabilitation, and intensification projects more financially feasible. Approved projects may receive grants based on a portion of the municipal tax increase generated after property improvements are completed and reassessed.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are property owners or developers with qualifying redevelopment or improvement projects in St. Catharines Community Improvement Plan areas that increase municipal property assessment.
Requirements
- Property must be located in an eligible St. Catharines Community Improvement Plan area.
- Project must involve eligible redevelopment, rehabilitation, or intensification work.
- Project must increase property assessment and municipal taxes.
