Project grants for Nanaimo culture and heritage non-profits producing arts, culture, heritage, event, festival, collaboration, or capacity-building projects.
About this program
The City of Nanaimo Culture Project Grant helps culture and heritage organizations deliver projects that benefit the community and contribute to Nanaimo's cultural, social, and economic vitality. Eligible project categories include public events, festivals, collaborations and partnerships, and organizational capacity-building activities. Grants may fund up to 25 percent of total project costs, and eligible applicants may submit up to three applications for three separate projects per year.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are professional or volunteer-driven culture non-profits based in Nanaimo, incorporated and in good standing with an arts, culture, or heritage mandate, at least one year of operation, at least one documented prior project or event, and evidence of project support from other sources.
Requirements
- Applicant must be based in Nanaimo and incorporated as a non-profit arts, culture, or heritage organization in good standing.
- Applicant must have operated for at least one year unless considered as a new or emerging group on a case-by-case basis.
- Applicant must have successfully produced and documented at least one previous project or event.
