Federal interest-free repayable contributions up to $10 million for southern Ontario businesses scaling up and adopting new technologies.
About this program
The Business Scale-up and Productivity (BSP) program is delivered by FedDev Ontario (the federal regional development agency for southern Ontario). It provides interest-free repayable contributions to high-growth, innovative SMEs in southern Ontario to support technology adoption, productivity improvements, market expansion, and commercialization. Funding can cover up to 35% of eligible project costs. The program targets high-growth firms, manufacturers, and innovators rather than startups or retail/service businesses.
Eligibility
Incorporated SMEs (typically 1-500 employees) in southern Ontario with high-growth potential, innovative offerings, and ability to scale. Retail and service-based businesses are generally not eligible. Indigenous-owned businesses can also apply.
Requirements
- Submit a Statement of Interest via the FedDev Ontario portal
- If invited, complete a full project application with business plan, financials, and project budget
- Demonstrate ability to repay the contribution (interest-free)
