About this program
The City of Edmonton Storefront Improvement Grant supports large, significant exterior renovations to commercial buildings located in Edmonton Business Improvement Areas. The program reimburses up to 50 percent of eligible project costs, with mid-block buildings eligible for up to $25,000 and corner buildings eligible for up to $50,000. The 2026 intake periods run February 1-28, April 1-30, and November 1-30, and projects that begin construction before approval and a reimbursement agreement are not eligible.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are commercial building or business stakeholders located in or planning to locate in Edmonton Business Improvement Areas with qualifying exterior renovation projects.
Requirements
- Building must be located in an Edmonton Business Improvement Area.
- Project must be a significant exterior storefront renovation.
- Construction must not begin before approval and execution of a reimbursement agreement.
