Greater Victoria Green Team supports community environmental restoration and volunteer engagement projects in Saanich and the capital region.
About this program
Greater Victoria Green Team works with municipalities, First Nations, nonprofits, schools, parks groups, and other partners to deliver hands-on environmental restoration and community engagement projects across Greater Victoria, including Saanich. While not a traditional cash grant, the organization provides project coordination, volunteer mobilization, tools, training, and restoration support that can substitute for project funding for local environmental improvement initiatives.
Eligibility
Municipalities, nonprofits, schools, park partners, First Nations, community groups, and environmental organizations in Saanich may seek partnership support for eligible environmental restoration and stewardship projects.
Requirements
- Project must be located in Greater Victoria, including Saanich where applicable.
- Project must involve environmental restoration, invasive species removal, habitat enhancement, stewardship, or community environmental engagement.
- Applicant or partner must coordinate project scope and site permissions with Greater Victoria Green Team.
