About this program
Community Futures Alberta (CFA) is a network of 27 Community Futures Development Corporations serving rural and remote regions of Alberta. CF offices provide repayable business loans up to $150,000 (with larger amounts available through the BDC partnership Business Elevation Loan) for startups, business expansion, business acquisitions, succession planning, and social enterprises. CFA uses broader lending criteria than commercial banks (character and capacity-focused) to serve entrepreneurs who may not qualify for conventional financing. CFA also delivers specialized programs including loans for entrepreneurs with disabilities and Indigenous business support.
