About this program
The City of Kelowna Strong Neighbourhoods Grant helps residents plan and deliver projects, events, and activities that strengthen neighbourhood relationships and community connection. Projects may receive matching grant funding up to $1,500, provided by the Central Okanagan Foundation, and applicants receive workshop and staff support to plan successful initiatives. Eligible costs can include equipment and materials, professional services, advertising, skill training, food, and volunteer appreciation within program limits.
Eligibility
Kelowna residents and neighbourhood groups may apply for matching support for community projects and events that build social connection and improve neighbourhood life.
Requirements
- Project must take place in Kelowna and benefit a local neighbourhood.
- Applicant must provide matching contributions such as cash, donated materials, equipment, or volunteer hours.
- Grant money cannot be used for expenses already incurred, ongoing operating costs, individual ownership items, travel, for-profit business activity, political activity, or religious activity.
