Wine Sector Support Program
Per-litre support for licensed Canadian wine producers, paid through an annual intake.
About this program
The Wine Sector Support Program helps Canadian wine producers stay competitive, providing up to $343 million over five years from 2022-23 to 2026-27, extended by $177 million in 2024. Payments are calculated per litre of eligible wine once each intake closes and all applications are assessed, so the amount per producer depends on how much wine is claimed in total. The 2025-26 intake ran from March 3 to May 30, 2025 and provided up to $55 million. Intakes have opened each spring; the program runs to March 31, 2027.
Eligibility
Licensed Canadian wine producers that make wine from primary agricultural products. Amounts are based on eligible litres produced.
