About this program
Hamilton Community Foundation's Free to Play initiative supports community projects that help children unplug and reconnect with nature, friends, and their imaginations. The program is part of the broader Free to Play initiative supported through Community Foundations of Canada and funds imaginative, inclusive, unstructured outdoor play opportunities. Applications opened November 28, 2025 and closed February 24, 2026.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are registered charities, qualified donees, or non-profits with eligible charitable partners proposing outdoor play projects for children in Hamilton.
Requirements
- Applicant must be a registered charity, qualified donee, or apply with an eligible charitable partner.
- Project must benefit children or communities in Hamilton.
- Project must support imaginative, inclusive, unstructured outdoor play.
