Downtown Commercial Suite Renovation Program
The city reimburses up to 50% of eligible interior renovation costs for downtown ground-floor commercial suites, up to $30,000 per suite.
About this program
The Downtown Commercial Suite Renovation Program supports business people and commercial property owners investing in eligible interior renovations in Vieux-Saint-Jean. Running from 2026 to 2030, the program applies to eligible ground-floor commercial suites in the designated territory and covers work such as walls and partitions, doors, floors and ceilings, beams and columns, mouldings and woodwork, accessibility elements, lighting, and public washroom improvements. Assistance is calculated as 50% of eligible costs, up to $30,000 for the same suite during the current program phase.
Eligibility
Owners or tenants of eligible ground-floor commercial suites in the designated downtown program area may apply for interior renovation reimbursement before work starts.
Requirements
- Commercial suite must be in the designated downtown program territory.
- Suite must be located on the ground floor and be occupied or intended for an eligible commercial, service, or limited industrial use.
- Suite must not already have received city-administered aid for work of the same nature.
