About this program
Community Futures Central Island provides small business loans and advisory support to entrepreneurs in Nanaimo and nearby Central Vancouver Island communities when conventional financing is not enough or not available. Loans can support business start-up, expansion, purchase of an existing business, technology adoption, equipment, facilities, productivity improvements, and other business financing needs. The organization serves Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Gabriola Island, Lantzville, Nanoose, Parksville, Qualicum Beach, and other central island communities.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are entrepreneurs and small or medium-sized businesses located in Community Futures Central Island's service area, including Nanaimo, seeking financing to start, expand, purchase, or improve a business.
Requirements
- Applicant must operate or plan to operate a business in the Community Futures Central Island service area.
- Applicant must seek financing for a business start-up, expansion, purchase, equipment, facilities, productivity, technology, or related business purpose.
- Applicant must complete the loan application process and provide business and financial information required by Community Futures.
