About this program
The City of Brantford Greyfields Community Improvement Plan provides incentives for redevelopment and intensification of underused greyfield sites such as older commercial plazas, large-format retail lands, and other previously developed properties. The tax increment grant can help approved projects offset redevelopment costs by rebating a portion of the municipal tax increase created by new investment.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are owners or developers of qualifying greyfield properties in Brantford undertaking approved redevelopment, intensification, or adaptive reuse projects.
Requirements
- Property must qualify under Brantford's Greyfields Community Improvement Plan.
- Project must involve eligible redevelopment, adaptive reuse, or intensification work.
- Project must increase municipal property assessment.
