Training, mentorship, and grant funding from $2,500 to $5,000 for Waterloo Region entrepreneurs operating or growing businesses in Kitchener and nearby municipalities.
About this program
Starter Company Plus through the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre is an eight-week bootcamp-style program for entrepreneurs operating a business for less than five years and who are market-ready, expanding, or purchasing an existing business in Waterloo Region. The Spring 2026 cohort focuses on businesses creating positive impact through the Sustainable Development Goals framework. Participants receive training, mentorship, business plan support, and the opportunity to pitch for grant funding from $2,500 to $5,000.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are entrepreneurs with new, existing, expanding, or acquisition businesses operating in Waterloo Region, including Kitchener, that meet Starter Company Plus program requirements.
Requirements
- Business must operate in Waterloo Region.
- Business must be a new start-up, acquisition, or existing business less than five years old.
- Participant must complete required training, mentorship, business plan, course modules, and pitch activities.
