Kakivak Sivummut Grants to Small Businesses
Kakivak provides Sivummut grants up to $25,000 total for eligible Inuit-owned businesses starting or expanding in the Qikiqtani Region.
About this program
Kakivak Association's Sivummut Grants to Small Businesses support eligible Inuit-owned businesses in the Qikiqtani Region of Nunavut with pre-startup, startup, and expansion costs. Kakivak business development officers work with Inuit entrepreneurs and businesses to assemble financing packages that may combine grant contributions and Makigiaqvik loans. Sivummut grants can provide up to $5,000 for business pre-startup, up to $10,000 for business startup, up to $10,000 for business expansion, and up to $25,000 total grants per business.
Eligibility
Eligible Inuit-owned businesses in the Qikiqtani Region may apply for Sivummut grants to investigate, start, manage, or expand a business.
Requirements
- Business must be Inuit-owned and located in the Qikiqtani Region.
- Project must support business pre-startup, startup, or expansion.
- Applicant must work with Kakivak Business Services to determine the appropriate financing mix.
