About this program
The Town of Newmarket Historic Downtown Community Improvement Plan includes signage and awning support for eligible businesses and property owners. The grant helps improve business visibility and historic downtown design quality by reimbursing a portion of approved exterior sign and awning costs.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are property owners or authorized business tenants in the Historic Downtown Newmarket Community Improvement Plan area completing approved signage or awning improvements.
Requirements
- Property or business must be located in the Historic Downtown Newmarket Community Improvement Plan area.
- Applicant must apply before purchasing or installing eligible signage or awnings.
- Project must meet Town design, sign by-law, permit, and heritage requirements where applicable.
