Saskatchewan Research and Development Tax Credit
10% refundable provincial tax credit on first $1M of SR&ED expenditures plus 10% non-refundable credit on additional R&D in Saskatchewan.
About this program
The Saskatchewan R&D Tax Credit provides a 10% refundable provincial tax credit on the first $1 million of eligible Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) expenditures for CCPCs, plus a 10% non-refundable credit on additional R&D expenditures (with carry-forward/carry-back provisions). The Saskatchewan credit stacks with the federal SR&ED tax credit (15-35% federal rate depending on corporation type), creating a combined credit on Saskatchewan R&D activities. Eligible expenditures include salaries, contractor costs, materials consumed in R&D, and overhead allocated to qualifying activities. Refundable portion was reinstated in recent budgets to better support innovation.
