City of Calgary Commercial Clean Energy Improvement Program
Property-tax-based financing for Calgary commercial property owners completing energy efficiency or renewable energy upgrades.
About this program
The City of Calgary Commercial Clean Energy Improvement Program offers flexible financing to commercial property owners for upfront costs of eligible energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. The program allows approved property owners to finance improvements through a Clean Energy Improvement Agreement and repay the financing through municipal property taxes. Calgary's commercial CEIP launched after Council passed the Commercial Clean Energy Improvement Bylaw in 2025 and is expected to support commercial building retrofit projects in the city.
