The City of Thunder Bay Core Area Community Improvement Plan Building Improvement Grant supports rehabilitation and reuse of eligible commercial and mixed-use buildings. Eligible work can include building code, fire code, accessibility, and interior or exterior improvements that help activate vacant or underused spaces in core commercial districts.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are owners or authorized tenants of properties in Thunder Bay's Core Area Community Improvement Plan project areas undertaking approved building improvement work.
Requirements
- Property must be located in an eligible Core Area Community Improvement Plan project area.
- Applicant must submit a complete application before beginning eligible work.
- Project must include eligible building rehabilitation, code, accessibility, or reuse costs.
