About this program
The Specialized Labour Tax Credit applies to personal income tax paid (to a maximum of 17%) on eligible income earned by specialized workers who migrate to PEI for specific positions in strategic sectors. The credit is effective for one year from the employment start date. Companies must be active in a strategic sector such as aerospace, bioscience, export-focused manufacturing and processing, financial services, interactive/ICT, or renewable energy. Employers must demonstrate that the position was advertised in local print news media and could not be filled from the existing PEI labour pool. The company cannot receive both this credit and the PEI Labour Rebate for the same position.
