About this program
The WinterCity Festivals and Events Grant supports eligible outdoor winter events that strengthen Edmonton's identity as a winter city and celebrate winter through arts, recreation, events, storytelling, and design. Grants range from $500 for smaller community events to up to $60,000 for larger festivals and events, and may not exceed 25 percent of total event cost. Eligible 2026 events must take place in Edmonton between January 1 and March 31 or November 15 and December 31, be primarily outdoors in the public realm, have at least 100 attendees, and be produced by a not-for-profit or charitable organization.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are not-for-profit or charitable organizations producing outdoor winter festivals or events in Edmonton.
Requirements
- Event must take place in Edmonton between January 1-March 31 or November 15-December 31.
- Event must be primarily outdoors in the public realm with more than 80 percent outdoor programming.
- Event must be in person, open to the public, and have attendance of at least 100 people.
