About this program
The City of Kitchener Startup Grant Program, also known as the startup landing pad program, helps startup companies transition from accelerator programs, incubator facilities, and short-term lease space into more permanent office spaces downtown. The program also helps property owners and tenants finance interior leasehold improvements and accessibility improvements to second-storey and higher commercial properties in the Downtown Community Improvement Area. The program is currently under review and requires a pre-application meeting.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are downtown Kitchener property owners, tenants, and endorsed startup companies with eligible commercial upper-storey properties in the Downtown Community Improvement Area.
Requirements
- Property must be in the Downtown Community Improvement Area.
- Property must be in a building with second storeys or above zoned for commercial use.
- Startup must be endorsed by a program partner where applicable.
